New book: "Bevrijd van pijn"

Louis Zantema compiles 10 years of research and practice in the field of psychology and chronic pain to explain how pain works, and which strategies and techniques can help patients influence and reduce pain by training their brain. He offers readers not just “learn to cope” advice, but tells how to retrain your brain to have less pain. 

This book is the answer to a phrase many patients are, unfortunately, familiar with: ‘You should learn to deal with it.’ Ultimately, the book will equip readers with the knowledge of evidence-based treatment methods such as cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness.

"When it comes to prolonged pain, we often immediately think there is something wrong with our body. Many people with pain complaints undergo physical treatment for years. In reality, our brain plays a major role in the pain we experience; yet few people with long-term pain complaints learn about the role of our brain in pain and what you, the patient, can do to influence it. In practice, I have seen many people recover from years of pain, thanks to the knowledge and strategies that I have included in this book. I hope it will help more people get started at an earlier stage.”

Reducept and "Bevrijd van pijn"

Bevrijd van pijn” is a continuation of scientific research that led Louis Zantema, together with Margryt Fennema, to develop the Reducept Method. Reducept uses the same principles as “Bevrijd van pijn”. In the Reducept VR application, you train your brain to come to the conclusion that it should create less pain.
